There is a very slim chance that someone around the world has not heard the name Batman. The character first made an appearance in 1939 and has been among the most favorite superheroes of all time. Batman has appeared many times on the big and small screen equally. Be it an animated series or movie; Batman has appeared in all. So when anything associated with the name pops up online, the internet makes a jump on it.
After Ben Affleck left DC films and Warner Bros. as an actor, director, and writer another big news has surfaced on the web regarding Jonah Hill. The news about Jonah finalizing a deal came out sometime after a couple of big things were announced regarding the movie. Robert Pattinson will appear on the big screen as The Caped Crusader. Also, Matt Reeves, who is best known for his work in War for the Planet of the Apes, will be directing the movie.
It was recently revealed by Robert Pattinson that the movie script has been finished. This makes the news of film production starting next year more concrete. The script by Matt reportedly consists of fan-beloved villains like Penguin and The Riddler. Now Jeffrey Wright, along with Jonah Hill, have begun to join the movie as well. Where Jeffrey is supposed to get the role of Commissioner Gordon, the knowledge of Jonah’s character is not yet confirmed.
However, as the rumors go, Jonah may be cast in the role of Penguin or The Riddler. According to the rumors, Jonah is in talking with WB and Reeves about the role he should play in the movie. The leading two characters being debated are Edward Nygma (The Riddler) or Oswald Cobblepot (Penguin).
No matter what role Jonah may get in the end, it will be interesting to watch nonetheless. Jonah has a public image of being a comedy actor. His breakout role in Superbad along with his utterly hilarious roles in This is The End, Jump Street, and The Sitter established him as a capable actor. However, his dramatic roles in The Wolf of Wall Street, War Dogs, and Moneyball franchise proved his versatility as well. Jonah even got nominated for the Academies for two of his dramatic roles. So it may be surprising to see him in the role of a villain.
Jonah has some expectations to fulfill as both of the roles have previously been portrayed aptly. Danny DeVito played the role of Penguin in Batman Returns while Jim Carrey was depicted as The Riddler in Batman Forever. There is no doubt that Jonah will nail the role as he is an excellent actor. The fanbase is eagerly waiting for any kind of information about the movie getting released as the production date closes in. It will be intriguing to see Jonah in either role, and the fans cannot wait for it.
