A Quiet Place took everyone by surprise with its intriguing storyline and eerie settings. The 2018 post-apocalyptic horror-thriller flick written and produced by John Krasinski managed to score decent numbers at the box-office. The movie revolves around a family who struggles to survive in a world inhabited by hostile alien creatures. The creatures are unable to see, but their hearing abilities are out of this world (pun intended).
John is better known for playing Jim Halpert on The Office. However, his third feature movie in 2018 set his reputation as a horror film director. The movie performed decently, so a second installment is no surprise for anyone. The movie is officially named A Quiet Place: Part II.
Director-writer Krasinski celebrated the start of the movie production with a BTS photo, and now that the filming has finished, he released another photo. The post contains a picture of a bridge which can be recognized if you have watched the original. There has not been much information about the film, but John has promised that the flick would not be your typical horror sequel.
The movie will take a shift from focusing on the Abbott family, and the sequel can capitalize on the fact that they do not have to face a single villain. Noah, Millicent Simmonds, and Blunt will be coming back along with Djimon Honsou and Cillian Murphy.
It is indeed intriguing as to what director-writer Krasinski has to offer with the upcoming horror sequel. If the movie manages to pack the spark of the first part which captivated the audience and critics alike, then it is sure to be a hit. The first part relied heavily on the horror and gimmick of being utterly silent. It will be interesting to see if that trick works twice in a row. The cast is a promising one, along with a touch of proven direction.
There has been no trailer released yet which is surprising, yet we await it eagerly. The trailer may be released in the upcoming months as the filing has been finished. The film is set to release in March 2020, which means that its marketing will start before the end of the year. The movie will be released under Paramount Pictures banner. They are all set to release terminator: Dark Fate and Gemini Man as well. Both of the flicks have a pinch of sci-fi thrill which A Quiet Place will eventually have as well.
The movie is much-expected to be a hit, given its star cast and directorial skills. The prestige created by the first movie will surely help as well. Whatever it brings will be exciting to watch.
