Probably the tide changer for every sci-fi action film made in the previous two decades, Matrix, is set to return for a surprising fourth installment. Warner Bros. is set to release the fourth installment with Carrie-Anne Moss and Keanu Reeves as the main lead. Lana Wachowski, the original director for Matrix franchise, is returning as well to direct the upcoming film. The rumors surrounding Matrix have always been around on the Internet for years now. Be it the talk about a fourth part or a fractional reboot for the movie with Michael B. Jordan. But to everyone’s disappointment, none of the rumors came true, until this one.
Keanu and Anne Moss will be reprising their original roles of Neo and Trinity. Keanu has been enjoying the time of his life after the release of Matrix, with a movie like John Wick, cameos in several films including Toy Story 4. He even went on to become a meme for our sake. All in all, the breathtaking star has been all over the Internet and social media the whole year. Internet’s love for Keanu is not hidden from anyone, so it is only fair to say that the fans are undoubtedly delighted to hear about the fourth Matrix.
Keanu is one of the most versatile actors out there. He has played parts in sci-fi flicks like Matrix, action roles in films like John Wick, and even a rom-com role in Always Be My Maybe. The actor has nailed every role he starred in. Keanu will also be reprising the role of Ted Logan in the Bill and Ted Face the Music part 3. And now the news of Matrix 4 makes it an even better year for Keanu.
The movie will be directed by Lana Wachowski, and she is supposedly using the script her sister Lily prepared. Lily has written the script with David Mitchell and Aleksandar Hemon. The production for the film is set to begin in early 2020.
The plot for the movie along with Morpheus’ return is still unknown. Reports on the web are suggesting that there will be a new younger version of the character in the film. Keanu’s increasing popularity in action flicks assured Warner Bros. to go ahead with the movie along with the original cast.
The movie sounds amazing with Wachowski, Keanu, and Anne on board. Lana and Lilly are expected to bring some mind-blowing scenes as the technical landscape has sky-rocketed since the previous Matrix released back in 2003. For all those who found Neo and Trinity’s death unsatisfying in the Revolutions, you all will be getting a better sendoff for the characters.
Whatever the film may bring, the fans are already hyped for it, and reasonably so. Even though the franchise died back in 2003, the movie is still talked about after almost two decades. With WB’s decision to run Matrix in 3D recently theatres, the hype went even higher for the fans. Let’s just cross our fingers and wish for some fantastic scenes and storytelling.
